Bliss Momos is currently Wellard’s most prominent cafe and restaurant. Wellard also has a tavern opening close by soon. Very popular with the locals its equally as popular owner Sunil serves an attractive breakfast and lunch offering and Nepalese inspired dishes for dinner. Good coffee, healthy and decadent eats like the salted caramel pancake stack or a detoxifying freshly squeezed juice, Bliss Momos is a great venue to socialise in over food and drinks. Less than 5km and just over a 5 minute drive from Sunrise, this is the first off the rank for a solid four recommendations for food and drinks around Wellard.

 

Kid friendly, with outside seating to make it dog friendly and lots of books to accompany you over a quiet coffee, tea or juice. 

 

Threepence Cafe Bakery – Hammond Park

Threepence has been open since November 2017 and provides an outstanding experience for less than a 10 minute drive from Sunrise. Everything at Threepence is made on site, from pasties to cakes and muffins, doughnuts, this is a cafe and a bakery. They serve great burgers for lunch and as you can see from the photos below, burgers to satisfy even the biggest appetites! They are kids and dogs friendly with dedicated tables and chairs for children, and play equipment, plus they have a doggie biscuit stand for doggie treats!

The Mighty Double Beef Burger – two beef patties, melted cheese, bacon, a fried egg, special sauce and beer battered chips with chicken salt “as one of the seasoning ingredients”

Brother of Mine is an established institution with a big patronage given its vast offering. From juices to great coffee, unicorn pancakes, oreo pancakes, massive fried chicken burgers and a fully stocked bar they offer American Smoked BBQ (Austin Texas Style) night from Thursday to Saturdays. As the photos show, they have an excellent choice of dishes, are kid friendly and have huge outdoor seating area where dogs can sit.

 

The Green Barista – Medina

The Green Barista is tucked away amongst a lot of greenery in Medina. Located in a shopping centre, it is owned and operated by Mira and Alex “an Italian Croatian” couple. The Green Barista has a following of loyal regulars and given their excellent quality of coffee, food and juices it is not surprising. Mira runs the kitchen which is open plan and absolutely immaculate and Alex can be found manning the coffee machine and working the front of the high wooden ceilinged store. From breakfasts to pastas and continental rolls for lunch to carrot, ginger and lemon juice that will make you feel very healthy. Mira and Alex are a great couple that are very down to earth with a lot of inspiring a wisdom filled quotes written on blackboards around the walls and is certainly a place you can relax and catch up with friends and family inside and out for a long time.
